The Power of Breath - English script



The power of breath adapted from "Science of breath by Yogi Ramacharaka (printed in 1903 - 1904). The Indian and Chinese people practiced this kind of breathing 2-3000 years ago.

Step 1

Stand erect. Face up. Chest up. Lift shoulders up and inhale deeply through nose. Hold your breath for a few seconds. Push air down to lower part of lungs. Bend shoulders forward with face down. Pretend you are going to whistle.

Step 2

Exhale air out in one great breath through wide open mouth.

Step 3

Face and shoulders up. Inhale through nose. Breath in slowly.

Step 4

Bend shoulders forward with face down. Exhale slowly through mouth. Squeeze your stomach. Release air out from your lungs.


Breath exercise helps fight allergies, cold, sinus, asthma, bronchitis, back pain, snores and many respiratory symptoms.


A side effect is the practitioner will lose weight. It helps lowering cholesterol and sugar levels and fight heart disease.
